    Influence

    In the introduction to the word Influence the children are introduced to the concepts of being influenced by but also about being a positive influence. To be a positive influence the children are taught to act with integrity.

    Integrity

    Integrity can be shown by making great choices, being able to fix mistakes and to do what is right even when it is difficult. Being good for goodness sake is also another concept explored through the power points, discussions and worksheets.

    Leadership

    A basic component of leadership is that of setting a good example. These include helping others, doing the right thing, showing courage to overcome fears, encouraging others, finishing the job and saying sorry. In Level 2 Leadership is focused around an understanding between leadership and bossiness. In Level 3 discussions and worksheets are held around one’s ability to influence through helping others.

    Courage

    Looks at doing right, one of the definitions for the word integrity which often requires courage. Trying new things, solving problems, standing up for others or learning to back down are explored. Expressing fear and learning to be a risk taker, admitting blame and accepting mistakes are all areas where the children are encouraged to face some of these types of situations with courage.

    Physical Education Overview

    The focus of the Game Play is to teach children the basic concepts of a net and wall game. Many of the skills learnt in Net and Wall games are transferable to other areas of sports. Many of these types of games develop spatial awareness and court positioning. Developing good spatial awareness requires the students to work on running, stopping, the ability to change direction, all vital components of many of the more advance net and wall games. Spatial awareness is also an important skill in a great number of games. Skills such as trajectory, depth and angles and height of attack are also developed when playing net and wall games. Students learn to hit an object with a specific force, as well as learning to attack from a variety of angles and heights.
