The Keynote presentations are for teachers who use Mac with Keynote and the Powerpoint presentations are for teachers who use Windows with Powerpoint. They are the same presentations just in different documents so you can work with what you are used to.

How am I going to fit PE into an already full curriculum?
The important versus the urgent. Often one of the first things to be removed because of a full curriculum is Health and PE. As one of the 8 identified key learning areas in the New Zealand Curriculum document, it is important that it is included in a child’s education by being covered in curriculum time by the classroom teacher.
Scientific research clearly shows that regular physical activity in children will benefit them both inside and outside of the classroom.
How will it help teachers who aren’t confident?
The aim of the programme is to empower the classroom teachers to become confident deliverers of the Health and Physical Education learning area. Strong Professional Development is a key component of the delivery of the Crackerjack Kids programme and is specifically designed to assist the classroom teacher gain confidence and competence in teaching Health and PE.

How can teachers find the time to prepare lessons?
The Crackerjack Kids resource provides classroom teachers with a full planning document. Manuals come in an electronic format. The resource provides Learning Intentions and Success Criteria’s for teachers to use as “Exit Goals”, Game Play learning pathways, assessment sheets, power points for discussion and reflection, video clips to help highlight the character focus and worksheets that can be used to stimulate discussion or for students to make personal reflections.
Where can the school get the money from?
- Money allocated by Sport New Zealand, often referred to as Kiwisport funding, can be used to implement the CJK programme as it’s outcome is also to further engage Kiwi kids actively in sports.
